Cornelis de Jong is a mixing engineer currently based in The Netherlands. He got exposed to music from a young age, as his mother played the piano and sang in a choir.

After he learned to play guitar at age 11, he went on playing in several bands covering a wide range of genres.

Since then he has been heavily influenced by artist such as The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Bee Gees, Abba, Jeff Buckley, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Dr Dre, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Tame Impala, James Blake, Arctic Monkeys, Alison Krauss, Andrew Bird and Khruangbin, to name a few.

His foray into music production began in high school, when he started to spend time with aspiring hiphop artists and taught himself how to program beats.

In 2004, he relocated to the north of Holland to study sound design. It was during this time his interest in recording techniques grew further. In 2010 he teamed up with now multi platinum record producer Ferdy van der Singel. Together, they worked on various projects and with many incredible talents. Spanning over a decade, Cornelis worked as an audio engineer, editor, and co-producing several albums with van der Singel.

Cornelis achieves his sound through a unique approach that is never the same. Passionate about analog recording techniques and modern audio processing, he likes to use the best of both worlds. One of his notable strengths has been his ability to find new sonic textures through the use of unorthodox gear such as modified alarm clocks and reamping tracks through various unconventional objects. Always striving to find the right amount of attitude, while allowing the natural quality of the instruments to speak for themselves.

Since 2022, Cornelis decided to focus entirely on mixing.
